Free Gifts For Your
WordPress Blog...
You may find it odd that a site that's not a blog, is writing
about WordPress. But I'm a closet WordPress junkie. I run a
variety of niche blogs on the platform and I love how everything
is so simple and free! (One of these days I'll get around to
converting this site to WordPress too.)
Anyway, today I have some holiday
gifts for your existing or upcoming WordPress blog. They're the
best of the best free plugins. I use most of these at my blogs
(and plan to use the rest). They deliver awesome results from great search engine
ranking to spam blocking and more.
It's all right after this important
message from today's top sponsor...

The Free Plugins
(These first four plugins will help
you get better search engine ranking...)
1. All In One SEO Pack
I believe this is the most downloaded Plugin
for WordPress and for good reason. It optimizes your blog for
search engines like Google and does an incredible job at it. It automatically optimizes your page
and post titles for search engines, generates META tags
automatically, and beginners don't even have to look at the
options, it works right out-of-the-box. Just install and activate.
2. Google XML Sitemaps
This plugin generates a special XML
sitemap to help search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo
better index your blog. It helps their crawlers see the complete
structure of your site and retrieve it more efficiently. It also
automatically notifies all major search engines every time you create a post.
3. Sociable
This cool plugin is all about
gaining social traction. It lets your readers tell their
friends, family, co-workers and anyone else they want, about
your content. It displays an easy tool with each post you make,
that gives visitors a wide variety of social sharing tools. This plugin can help you get more traffic and eventually, better
rankings as "social signals" are starting to gain traction in
the world of SEO.
4. AStickyPostOrderER
This plugin lets you arrange your
sticky posts in any order you want. I've found this to be
helpful with SEO. By making my best posts sticky I can have them
display at my home page permanently instead of getting pushed
off by new posts. With this plugin I can position the posts with the
most relevant keyword phrases near the top of my home
page and have them stay there.

Four More Powerful, Free WordPress Plugins...
5. Akismet
It doesn't take long for comment
spam to start arriving after you setup a new blog. Akismet
filters it out for you and does a great job. It does this by
checking your blog's comments against the Akismet web service to
see if they look like spam. It's a nice time saver. In fact, it
has filtered out more than 1000 spam comments for me already.
6. Feedburner Form
Feedburner Form allows you insert Google Feedburner subscription
forms at your blog, allowing visitors to subscribe to your feed
and receive an e-mail sent by Google Feedburner, every time you
publish content.
7. S2Member
s2Member® (Membership w/ PayPal®) is a powerful, free membership
plugin that protects members only content, integrates
with Paypal and supports recurring billing. One of the most
popular member solutions for WordPress and for good reason.
8. Mingle Forum
Mingle Forum is a plugin that lets you add a forum to your blog,
quickly and easily. There are a handful of forum plugins
for WordPress but many are either buggy or
difficult to install. With Mingle Forum you can have
your forum fully installed and configured in minutes. Running
your own forums is an awesome way to get lots of long-tail
search engine traffic.
That's it for today. If you are new to WordPress and need
