The Next Big Thing... Or
Maybe Not.
By Jim Daniels
As a publisher with a large subscriber base, I get a lot of
invitations to promote the next big thing.
Let's see, last month it was a new web services MLM. The
month before it was a $5,000 coaching program. Oh yeah, and
yesterday it was a business building network marketing program
with a $2000 signup cost.
The truth is, I could have made some easy money promoting any
of those. In today's gazette I'll explain why I passed, and why
you should pass on 95% of stuff you see being hyped up like
crazy.
Right after today's top sponsor message...
I'll flood your inbox with customers, members,
subscribers,
you name it - whatever your offer is - I'll bring you the
customers... at a "Beta Tester" price!

Fact:
Every time the "next big thing" is put into super, hyped-up spin
mode, thousands of people flock to it like it's finally the
solution they've been waiting for.
They see a snazzy sales letter
with a fancy car and mini-mansion. They read about how easy it
was for the "hero" of the day. They see more "social proof" from others explaining
how easy it was for them too.
Their emotions are played like a
harp and the next thing they know, out comes the credit cards of
hundreds, sometimes thousands of people.
They're buying a dream, or at
least trying to.
The problem is, most of the
people buying into these business opportunities are the same
people who bought the last big thing. And they'll buy the next
one too.
And it's not their fault. They
want to trust. They want a better life. And they certainly
don't want to miss their big chance.
So what happens after that? Why
do so many of those people end up dropping out only to
eventually buy their way into the next big opportunity that
comes along?
It simple: Shortly after getting
in on the latest big thing, they discover that it's NOT easy.
There is work to be done. A learning curve to get through. This
causes most of them to lose interest.
Meanwhile, the company that sold
them on the "easy money opportunity" has cashed in and is
already creating something new to sell them on.
What a vicious cycle.
After this quick sponsor message from yours truly, I'll
explain what your best shot at ditching a life of jobs really
is...

OK, so how in the heck does someone break into profits on
the web?
After all, lots of people DO make it, and make it BIG online.
Well, there's one formula that I know of that works almost
every time. It goes something like this...
Forget about the next big thing. That's right, you probably
do not need it anyway. All you really need to focus on is YOU.
You are the next big thing.
Build a business around you. Take something you are
passionate about and start writing about it. If you don't like
to write, then make videos. Share everything you know about your
passion. There are others out there with the same passion and
they will connect with you.
Once you have started growing that following of others who
share your passion, you will be on your way. As your following
grows, you'll be able to recommend directly related products and
services based on your own experience. You'll be able to create
solutions to their problems and people who you've helped will be happy to
purchase your recommendations. You'll begin to make money. Real
money doing what you like.
This is not a secret formula or anything like that. Heck,
countless people make a comfortable living using this formula.
This includes people you may have heard of, like the self help
guru Tony Robbins, to that down to earth wine guru Gary
Vaynerchuk, and all the way down to lesser known folks like me.
So please, forget about the next big thing.
When the next big thing comes out, if you absolutely must
look at it, then look at it with a new perspective.
Take notes on how they are promoting it. Go through their
marketing process and see how much of it you can emulate. After
all, if lots of people are promoting it and buying it, then they
probably have an effective marketing plan.
That's what you should take from the next nig thing. Ideas.
Ideas that you can use in your own business.
And that is all you really need to focus on... you.
You are the next big thing.
