Last year I started a new service where I coach people along their web business journey. Lately I've been seeing lots of coaching offers online, some costing thousands of dollars. (I think I'm charging way too little.)

Today I'll expose a few secrets of the web business coaching industry, and show you some examples of people using coaching to grow online income. Right after this quick sponsor message.
 

First, I need to share a few unsettling facts about the Web Business Coaching industry...

Perhaps you've seen coaching programs online. Maybe you've even tried one. While there are many legitimate web business coaching programs available, there are far more that are nothing more than 'back-end cash-cows', sucking thousands of dollars from unsuspecting newbies.

Wow. That's quite an accusation. But it's true in far too many cases.

Here's how I know what's going on behind the scenes...

As a publisher of a popular newsletter in the Internet marketing space, I've been repeatedly approached by one of the big coaching service providers online. (The one several gurus use as their back-end cash cow.) They wrote, "Jim, just send us your best paid customers, we'll close the upsell deal and you'll earn thousands per signup. Our staff will handle the coaching."

While it was tempting at first, my mind kept going back to all the emails I've received over the years. Emails from people who overpaid for experienced help they desperately needed but never received.

In fact, it made me see clearly, the two unfortunate commonalities of coaching that didn't work for most people...

1. Ridiculously High Cost

Have you seen the cost of some of the coaching programs online? Most coaching programs cost literally thousands of dollars, especially if there's a well-known guru's name attached to the offer.

You should not have to pay that much for help!

After all, if you need help building a business, then the last thing you should be doing is getting into debt. You certainly should not have to part with $5,000, $2,400 or even $500 for legitimate help.

But it's the second problem that's more disturbing. You see, a very important fact is often downplayed in most coaching offers...

2. No Expert Access!

Once you've slapped down the hefty enrollment fee for most coaching programs, you're immediately 'farmed out' to hourly workers.

That's right, the 'personal help' you were promised is done by hired hands who have little if any personal experience growing their own business! You may never, ever get access to the expert that sold you on the program.

That's because they're too busy to help you personally -- busy creating more products and services to sell you!

So why do so many people pay thousands of dollars for those coaching offers?

Well, if you've read any of those expertly written sales letters, you might understand. They make success sound easy. They use high-pressure sales tactics. They give you an easy payment plan and a guarantee they know most people will be embarrassed to take them up on.

So, now that I've beaten up on the coaching industry, I'll explain how some coaching CAN help you.

The one form of coaching that MAY help you...

If you can find someone who is willing to help you personally, someone who's done what you're trying to do, then it could be worth paying for coaching. As long as you do not have to overpay.

But you have to get personal access to them anytime you need help. And that may be hard to find.

I do know of a handful of such people, and I'm one of them. Of course I'm only able to handle a limited number of clients so I only open enrollment occasionally. But the good news is that if you can get in, the cost is ridiculously low right now. (I even give you a free training package to show you the quality of the help you'll get.)

Many of my readers wonder how I'm able to support many people at the same time and my answer is always the same...

I spend quite a bit of time at my keyboard! But that's OK. I like giving people the straight scoop and saving them from overpaying for the help they need.
