"The #1
Slow Sales Culprit "
Is your website making enough sales?
Heck, is it making ANY sales?
Day in and day out I hear from
business owners all over the world who are struggling to make
sales online.
Many of them have great websites.
Many of them have lots of targeted website traffic. And many
have products or services that are quite attractive and useful.
So why aren't the sales
happening?
Today I'll tell you exactly
why, as I share with you the number one slow sales culprit on
the web.

OK, I won't keep you in
suspense...
The number one slow sales culprit in the web is without a
doubt, ineffective sales copy.
Wait!
Before you go barging off to another
site assuming your sales copy is not your problem, at
least look three discoveries I've uncovered over the past few
years. These findings back-up the fact that it is the sales
copy that reigns supreme...
Ugly sites makes sales...
While many experts agree that attractive sites pull better than
sites that are, well, let's say less than handsome, the fact is,
ugly sites make sales.
As a matter of fact, I've run sponsorship ads in this gazette
for businesses with websites consisting of nothing more than
text on white background. My first impression was that their ads
would not do too well and they would be one-time advertisers. Yet in many cases, they rebook more and
more ads.
In every one of these cases, further investigation
shows that their website copy is so strong that an influx of
fresh targeted spikes their sales sharply. While I deliver the
traffic, it is almost always their website copy that results in the jump
in sales - ugly site or not!
Have a look at
this recent gazette top sponsor advertiser and tell me if their
site is pretty. Yes, it is quite basic. But it sells. And sells. So well in
fact that they've booked ads with me for the rest of the year.
So do not get caught up in images,
javascript, and elaborate site designs. Spend your time on your
copy and you can do well with ANY site.
Sites that take an hour or more
to read make sales...
It is a common misconception that
long sales copy is not effective. Nothing could be further from
the truth, and I have a site that backs up that theory quite well.
I like to think my five page guide
at
make-a-living-online.com as more than a sales letter,
but in addition to informing folks on how to do business online,
its job is to sell. And sell it does. In fact, it generates
more than $100,000 in income every year.
Sure, some people complain about the
length of the site. Some people even complain that there is a
product offered at the end. But I get far more compliments and
words of thanks from people who take time to read all five
pages. And yes, many of these folks go on to order at the end.
Fact: Long copy works. As long as it
is good copy.
So how long should your copy be?
Simple. Long enough to say what you have to say. No more - no
less. Don't get caught up in length. Just get your point across
and do it in a manner that sells!

Sites with less that 25 visitors
a day make sales...
I have another website that I
mentioned only twice in this newsletter over the past year -
audiobookselfpublishing.com.
I have done no other promotions for
it, as I've been tied up with another project. With no promotion
going on, the site has been getting less than 25 visitors a day
this month.
Yet it STILL sells. Just last week
two orders came in for the audio CD and my supply is running low
again.
Why the continued sales with no
effort? Simple. The copy is concise and effective. It informs.
It motivates. It sells.
So if all those sites are breaking
the so-called rules and making sales, why are so many sites
struggling?
You guess it - their sales copy is
not as effective as it should be. And you may very well be in
that same boat - like it or not.
The key is to take a hard look at
your sales figures and be honest with yourself
-- is your sales copy as strong as it could be? If not, you need
to
"adjust" your copy. It's the only thing guaranteed to boost your sales.
I'd can
show you how to do that right now.
Don't
worry, you can keep your wallet in your pocket and your
pocketbook fastened. The resource I want you to use is 100%
free.
Your
assignment today is to read my friend Joe Robson's
free tutorial on writing sales copy. ;-) It is a multi-page
tutorial that really tells it all, clearly and concisely. As you
read each page, click the links at the bottom to continue with
the tutorial. It walks you through every aspect you need to
apply to your sites.
That's it, just read it. Then when you're done, spend some time applying the techniques.
You can't help but make more money online with this information.
