In today's issue...

"Welcome To The Web's Slow Season"

I've been doing business on the Internet for a decade. Every year it's the same. The months of June, July and August can be boring for web business.

This is the time when most families in the US and many other countries take vacation. Their focus is on travel, recreation and relaxation. They spend little time doing business related activities or surfing the web.

This is a trend you need to be aware of if you're doing business online. Unless your business promotes seasonal items that traditionally sell best during these months, you'll likely see a slowdown.

In today's gazette I'd like to share some ideas I've used in the past, to offset this naturally occurring slowdown.

Over the years I've experimented with a variety of strategies to keep sales strong during slow months. If you're looking to keep sales up, consider trying a few of these strategies...

Strategy 1: Have a sale.

Have you ever noticed the increase in department store sales flyers during the slow season Holidays? That's because big stores need to get customers in during their slow periods. So they have a special sale every time any day resembling a holiday comes along. (I actually got 4 "Flag Day Sale" flyers in one day!)

As a website business owner you can have a sale anytime you want. Call it a summer vacation sale. Knock 20 or 30 percent off a few of your top selling products or let your list members in on a "subscriber only" three day sale. The extra profits you generate can hold you over until it gets busy again.

Strategy 2: Put together a package deal.

Here's a strategy I used just last month that worked like gangbusters. Take a selection of your best products and put them together into one irresistible package. Then sell the package at a price anyone would be crazy to pass up. You may be shocked at how many people will take advantage of your new offer. Many of my subscribers wrote thanking me for the opportunity to get all my products at a reduced price. In fact, I did six months worth of sales volume in one month using this strategy.

Strategy 3: Work on a few special "JV-JV's".

JV stands for Joint Venture. A JV-JV is a joint venture that goes both ways, meaning you promote a product or service for a vendor and they do the same for you. This strategy is an extremely effective way to make lots of sales in a short period of time, even during slow months. If you need more information on setting up an effective JV-JV, read this recent issue of my gazette.

Strategy 4: Hold a contest for your affiliates.

If you have an affiliate program (and you should!) you can hold a sales contest among your affiliates. Give away cash or merchandise to the top 10 producing affiliates for a 2 week period, and you'll see a frenzy of sales. Use your imagination and come up with some irresistible prizes. Believe it or not, affiliates will work just as hard trying to win something for their kids, such as a new Xbox or Nintendo DS, than they will for cash prizes.

Strategy 5: If you can't beat'em, join'em!

This one is my favorite. Not every business can afford to do it, but if you can, it's the most fun of all the strategies.

Yep, you guessed it -- the strategy I'm talking about here is just going with the trend. Take some time off! Cut your work schedule to three days a week like I do. Schedule a few vacations and work as little as possible.

This strategy will help you recharge your batteries.

If you're one of those people who simply cannot get your mind off work, then use this time away from the business to do some brainstorming.

Plan your next big project. Dream up a few new ideas. Planned downtime can be a great way to open up your mind and you may be surprised at how many new ideas flow in.

That wraps up today's gazette. See ya in a few weeks...

A Letter from a Subscriber:

Hi Jim,

"I wish I had your EZ Web Business Builder two years ago. Like most people trying to build a home business I read all the ebooks, paid for courses on how to start an online living and got nowhere."

"In the last nine days I have built and up loaded a twenty nine page web site only working part time (evenings). I have learned more from your CD over the last week or so than the last two years reading ebooks, course etc. I would have gladly paid double or triple just for the time it saved me on that learning curve."

One happy chappy. Thanks for saving my day.
