Over the last 15 years or so, a gold rush began online.
Contrary to what some gurus have been saying, it's still going strong.
After all, have you ever noticed how every time
a new product or service launches in the Internet marketing
space people still flock to it in droves?
They read accounts and see "proof" of how much
money this new technique or that new strategy is making for someone
and they want in.
Thousands of people buy the new product and it
usually helps a small percentage of them earn money. Of course
the person who makes the most money nearly every time, is the
person selling the newest "prospecting" tool.
Which camp are you in?
Are you still panning for gold online?
Or are you providing the picks and shovels (info
and services) to the miners?
Many people look at the web marketing niche in a bad light,
and I completely
understand why. People are constantly bombarded with get rich
quick offers and dead-end business opportunities. So they
tend to throw the whole industry under the bus and dismiss it
completely. Many even start thinking that the
only people making money online are the people telling others how to
make money.
I can assure you that is FAR from the truth.
You see, I've been helping "prospectors" online
for 15 years now. And I've seen many success stories first hand.
Over the years I've helped people make money
online in all kinds of niches including the wellness industry,
guitar lessons, dance, cell phones, financial services,
and I could go on and on.
No matter what your opinion is of the "IM"
niche, it is a real, viable niche. And the need for help is a

So if you've never had much success prospecting
for riches online or off for that matter, I urge you to consider switching sides and start helping
others go after their dreams.
It may seem like there are already more than
enough web business gurus to go around, but there's not. For every
guru you've
heard of, there are literally
thousands more people earning 'stay home money' in this niche.
That's because there are more and more sub-niches added to this
niche all the time.
I'm not talking about selling business
opportunities here, I'm talking about helping people with
different aspects of doing business online.
This can take on many forms, such as the form I
prefer -- providing advice via consulting or coaching, training
books, audio and video lessons, etc. But info-marketing is just the tip of the
iceberg.
Countless folks are also making money performing services such as site design
and setup, ecover design, copywriting services, affiliate
program setup, affiliate recruiting, autoresponder setup, email
marketing services, social marketing services, link building, etc.
I could go on and on with sub-niches that are
profitable, and sub-niche ideas that will be profitable. But I
think you get the idea. Helping people do business online is THE
niche.
Now the real question is this:
Is this a niche that you could
make money in?

is the Niche of the Century
for you too?
In order to determine whether you can join the countless people
making money in this niche, you need to honestly answer a few
important questions...
1. Do you enjoy helping
people?
After all, that's what this niche
is about -- helping people with different aspects of online
business. You don't have to help them in person, or even over
the phone. You can do it via email, or less directly via
products or services. You don't even have to develop the
products or services yourself, you can promote them as an
affiliate.
And don't worry if you know
little about this niche or any of the sub-niches I mentioned
earlier. This is a great 'learn as you go' niche and most
answers are easily found on the web. Heck, I knew nothing when I
got started in this niche, and most of my colleagues were in the
same boat. Within a few weeks you can easily know more than 90%
of all newcomers to web business, which means you can help
nearly all of them! But again, you should at least like the idea
of helping people.
2. Are you comfortable using a computer?
Most people think you need to be
some kind of computer nerd to get into any niche related to web
business. That's far from the truth. Sure, you will need to be
teachable, so you can learn how to do things like copy and
paste, but most things are pretty simple nowadays, and anyone
with determination who does not fear the computer, can learn all
the basic skills required.
3. Are you willing to put in
serious effort?
This is the big one. You may have
heard me mention that I work less than 15 hours a week during
golf season. I did not do that my first year. Or my second. In
fact, it takes hard work to get established and grow a loyal
following. Forget all about the get rich quick schemes out
there, they do not work. The only way to succeed in any business
is to dedicate time and mental energy to it.
That said, once you get
established, a web-based income gives you time
freedom like no other. I mean, you can virtually work from
anywhere and choose your own hours.
Personally, I like to put in a
2-3 hours on Monday morning, take Tuesday off to golf, then work
3 or 4 hours Wednesday through Friday. I'm not a big traveler
but I take my laptop on trips and squeeze in a few hours every 2
or 3 days to stay caught up with my coaching. I also use my iPhone to answer emails when I'm mobile.
(I use a slick app
from Dragon Dictation that lets me speak my email replies rather than
type them on that tiny keyboard.)
OK, so those are the three
questions you need to answer honestly. If you can come up with
three yes answers, you may be able to make money in this niche.
Serious money if you work at growing a loyal following.
