"How to search the web effectively"

I know I am not alone on this one.

How many times have you searched the web for information on a particular subject and spent HOURS trying to find it?

I usually start at Yahoo, then bounce over to Excite  or GoTo. After that I try a few more. Finally, after going through 7 or 8 different search engines and directories, I either find what I'm looking for, or more likely, give up!

It can be VERY frustrating!

I finally decided enough was enough. My days of bouncing from search engine to search engine are over for good!

You see, it seems I was not alone in my frustration, and thankfully, others have begun to do something about it.

There are now more than a few "multi-search engines" that will do all this searching for you. After spending a few hours trying them out, I bring to you the BEST of the lot. (In my humble opinion of course!)

All of these "multi-search engines" work similar to the search engines we all know and love. You simply enter the key words you're looking for and submit. They will then search the major search engines (and more) for you!


Digisearch
With this service you can search www-links from various search engines simultaneously. Give the word(s) you want to search for, maximum time to search, and choose any or all of the 18 search engines you want to use.

Highway61
Highway 61 is a "meta-search" site. Your search will be sent to a number of Internet search engines and the results will be compiled into a single page. Currently, your search is submitted to Yahoo, AltaVista, Lycos, Webcrawler, Infoseek and Excite.

Mamma
Mamma analyzes your queries and properly formats the words for each search engine or database it sends to. Depending on the query, Mamma can simultaneously search as many as 7 search engines simultaneously. Mamma will then organize the results into a uniform format, and present by relevance. Best of all, the process is comparative to the time spent on one single engine due to a highly powerful program.

Searches
Search Alta Vista, Excite, Galaxy, Hot Bot, Lycos, Web
Crawler, and Yahoo with ONE Click. You'll also find some cool browser tips at this site!

In closing...
Stop hopping around from search engine to search engine. You're wasting valuable time!
